Dropping in to knee-deep black pumice sand dunes that surrounded the Batur Volcano in Bali was definitely a new experience for me. The sand was made up of porous pumice. Pumice is formed when liquid hot magma with a high gas content rapidly cools. The gas bubbles get trapped, forming porous vesicles that gives pumice it's characteristic weightlessness. (It's also a great exfoliator).
Ridgelines at Sunset
This has to be by far one of the most beautiful lines I've ever ridden. It was the end of 5 days of shooting up at Retallack Lodge for Red Bull Media house. I was exhausted but so keen to hike this ridge for one last drone shot. I stood at the top in my jersey for almost an hour waiting for the perfect light. It was worth it. Edit coming out soon and I am so excited!
They're also open now for Catskiing! For more info on the Lodge and bookings, check out their site HERE
A Grizzly Place to Stop
If I look a bit nervous here; I am. After a long day of hiking and riding, the last drone shot took me straight into the danger zone. Three Grizzlies were spotted less than 24hrs earlier digging up the ground where I'm sitting, looking for food. As the rest of the team packed up their gear, I sat here, alone and nervous as hell that the big guys would wander back for an afternoon snack.
I asked one of the guides what to do if I came across a Grizzly; his response? Be polite.
Sun sets on an epic week
It's a rare moment to capture two elusive filmers in one photo. The boys had just finished shooting 5 days in the mountains, and took a second to celebrate a beautiful golden-hour moment. These guys live and breathe media, and I'm so lucky to have had them capturing this magical week.
Silence is Golden
Although most of our days are filled with laughter, sometimes nature leaves us speechless. We take a second to watch as the sun sets on what has to be the best trip I've ever been on.
Best. Staff. Ever.
If it wasn't for our absolutely amazing staff at Retallack Lodge, our trip wouldn't have been the same. Thank you, guys, for giving us truly a unique and special experience that I will remember for the rest of my life.

Suns out Bums out
This was just a routine ride with my buddy Donna! Our rides consist of a lot of laughs, chats, encouragement, and snacks! She's the best partner to have out on a sunny day in Squamish.
Epic Sun calls for Epic Posing
I was being shot for a Vega commercial last spring, and Shaun, one of our camera support guys decided this tree/sunset combo was just too epic not to strike a pose!
Earn your Turns
One of the best little rock-faces in Squamish, Steffi, Donna and I decided to detour over for some photos at the end of a great ride.
Did you get the shot?
Donna proudly displaying the photo she nabbed of me bombing down the ladder bridge. It's a nug!
